Obi is the first dog I've ever owned and the first dog I've ever rescued. As a first-time dog owner I had no idea what I was getting into. My wife on the other hand has always had a dog. She couldn't imagine her married life without a pet. After a year of marriage and many conversations about pet ownership (more like ultimatums and plenty of tears on my wife's part), I agreed to adopting Obi. As a rescued dog he came with behavioral issues. During his first year we spent most of our time going to training classes and reading up on how to become great pack leaders. I might not be as great of a pack leader as my wife is, but adopting Obi has taught me so many lessons that have changed my life. Obi is not perfect, he sometimes jumps up on the furniture when he's not invited, once in a while he growls at people passing by, and more than once he has had little spats with some neighborhood dogs, yet I love this dog and my wife is crazy about him. The happiness Obi brings to my life and specially to my wife is worth any headache he gives me.
